 Job description:

The Client Service Assistant will mainly be responsible for supporting the Account Director as well as other Account Managers (on a project basis) with all client service functions.

Client service functions include organising the workflow, budget and deliverables on accounts. Communication and relationship-building with clients are very important in this role.

Other functions in this role include liaising with internal departments (production, digital, creative, finance, media, and copywriting) to ensure that work is done timeously and thoroughly.


  • Relevant qualification (BCom Marketing, BCom/BA Communications, etc. Project management, business management, events management, etc.)
  • Minimum of 3 years of client service experience in the advertising industry.
  • Bilingual (Afrikaans and English).
  • Project management experience will be beneficial.
  • The ability to work efficiently under high pressure with a high workload and minimal supervision.
  • Have a good understanding of the client’s business and the ability to identify opportunities for growth.
  • Ability to manage internal workflow and teams to ensure that external expectations are met.
  • The ability to build and maintain relationships.
  • Should be comfortable interacting with numerous people on an ongoing basis.
  • Strong operational abilities (ability to not only strategise but also execute).
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills (ability to translate abstract ideas and continually grow relationships with all stakeholders).
  • Numerical skills such as drafting budgets, calculating profitability and doing a recon of projects.
  • The ability to flourish in a creative environment.
  • Fully proficient in MS suite.
  • Knowledge of Magnetic software will be beneficial.
  • Adapt well to new software and technologies.
  • Problem-solving skills.
  • Attention to detail.

 Job specifications:

  • Generating cost estimates for clients.
  • Coordinating service providers, providing them with POs and arranging for timeous payment.
  • Briefing the creative team and managing project workflow on the agency’s software system (Magnetic).
  • Acting as a link between internal stakeholders (as mentioned in the job description) as well as external stakeholders (clients and suppliers).
  • Monitoring the process to ensure that deliverables and timelines are met.
  • Liaising with different stakeholders on the client’s behalf, such as suppliers and media.
  • Identifying growth opportunities within accounts.
  • Ensuring that all deliverables to a client are met.
  • Dealing with clients and suppliers professionally.
  • Drafting budgets, calculating profitability and recon projects.
